Uganda is slowly being discovered by the travel fraternity as "the special one" in terms of safaris on the African continent. Uganda is unique in every respect. Lakes, rivers, game, wildlife, gorillas, chimpanzees at Ngamba Island, & in Kibale, lions, hippos, tree climbing lions, mountains, culture, a rich history, friendly people, luxury lodges, camping safaris. It is all these safari holiday attributes that made Lonely Planet stand up and reward Uganda the No1 spot as one of the emerging tour destinations. Whether your wish is to trek the gorillas in their natural habitat, see the tree climbing lions of Ishasha while on a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, see lions, leopards, tigers, hippos, giraffes, elephants, kobs, impalas etc, there will be plenty of these game viewing opportunities when you partake in an afternoon boat cruise either on the Nile in Murchison Falls Park or along the Kazinga channel in Queen Elizabeth Park.

In the east of the country, The mighty Nile offers plenty of lake activity including the grade V rafting rapids, dugout canoe rides on the Nile, kayaking, wind surfing, bungee jumping, or just plain birding on the lake.
