Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

You will be picked up from your lodge or upon arrival at Kigali International Airport. You will then embark on a city tour, visiting local markets and the Kigali Genocide Memorial. After the tour, you will be transferred to Musanze, near Volcanoes National Park, where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking

In the morning, after breakfast, you will embark on an exhilarating and unforgettable gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park. Upon encountering the gorillas, you will have the extraordinary opportunity to observe their behaviors and capture stunning photographs for one hour. After descending, return to your hotel to relax and unwind.

Day 3: Golden Monkey and transfer to Kigali

After your early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing. With your packed lunch in hand, you will then set off for an exciting golden monkey trekking experience. After the trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch before being transferred to Kigali, either to your lodge or to the airport.

Itinerary

Depart Kigali after breakfast and drive to Volcanoes National Park. After checking into your lodge and enjoying lunch, embark on a guided nature walk around the lodge grounds or visit the Iby'Iwacu Cultural Village for an authentic introduction to Rwandan traditions. Evening briefing about the upcoming gorilla trek.

Early breakfast followed by a park briefing and assignment to a gorilla family. Trek through the misty forest to find your designated gorilla group. Spend an unforgettable hour in their presence. Afternoon at leisure to rest or explore the local area.

After breakfast, head into the park for golden monkey tracking. These playful primates inhabit the bamboo forest zone and are delightfully active. The trek is generally easier than gorilla tracking with a shorter walk. After the experience, return to the lodge for lunch before your transfer back to Kigali.
